Hi. A REST-based API is in development which will allow you to communicate with the orkut container (e.g. fetching friend and activity data, etc.) using any HTTP-aware language including JavaScript, Java, PHP, etc. We have not publicly released the beta API, but it should hit the sandbox within the next couple of weeks, hopefully. The developer blog will be updated when the endpoints are announced:
