It is not a problem to define a different background image for the new GDM. One just needs to be provided and the appropriate configuration key set by default. I can provide you with binaries of the new SUNWgnome-display-mgr packages if you want to start trying it out and looking more into how to properly brand the background. Just ask me off-list. Brian
