Nothing strange about that, as it has it all. Look at the Fedora dist which is 
about the same size but actually contains less for a developer.

Yep, like a charm. Run it on laptop (wireless and cable) and on my desktop. 
Maybe 
once a fortnight I need to do a 'svcadm restart nwam'.
