Hey, that 4401 is supported. There is a III party driver for it and it works really well (my laptop too has the same chip). No idea about the 4312. Google "solaris NIC drivers", press "I'm feeling lucky" and you'll get to Masayuki-San's drivers page. You don't need to recompile them. Pre-compiled binaries are present in the package. Just do a make install or take a look in the makefile and copy the 2-3 files to the right locations. Thats all.
