How did you measure the memory usage?
The gnome-system-monitor reports incorrect statistics in OS 2009.06. See
http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=4751.
The issue is fixed in dev_130 and it will be available in /dev
repository soon. Until then use the prstat commandline utility for
reliable results.
