Posted via the Jive forum since Gmail still seems to be in the blacklist. Sorry

I find it ironic that you attack Mr. Harvey for his behavior, while doing
exactly the same thing of which you accuse him. However, considering
your public treatment of Oracle on these lists of late, I guess I shouldn't
be surprised.

I understood your point and I get their POV. However, this is predominately
a mail list, not a forum. Politely reminding them of that fact, and the issues
inherent with their chosen mode of interaction with this list, is not off base
in anyway. If they chose to ignore those reminders and issues, that is their
decision. Attacking the people who remind them of the issues that they
are causing - particularly since not all of them may be aware of the issues -
does nothing positive for the list, the group or your reputation. On the
contrary, the only thing it does is "to fragment and disrupt the community" [1].

Fair enough. Shame on you. You should do a better job of selecting tools. You
should also, at a minimum make sure that the people who use the Jive forum
are aware of the problems associated with that interface, and you should be
actively working toward building community, not attacking members of the
community.

If you wish to respond, please leave out the list. This really has wandered far
off-topic for opensolaris-discuss.
