There are at least two problems and possibly several more. 

One is that AES using 192 or 256 bit ciphers produces the wrong result.
This can be seen with the self tests. 

I have seen examples where using 'enc' also produces the wrong results
with those ciphers but it can encrypt and decrypt data although the
output is wrong, whereas under SSL/TLS that doesn't happen.
