In this case, you have to throw an exception for a user-defined converter?

I'm working on the type conversion code to add field errors. They will
be keyed like this:

invalid.fieldvalue.xxx

Where xxx is your field name. It will also have a default message which
will be shown if the above key could not be found in the Action's
resource bundle.
