If a reference can be an email address rather than, say, a document name
(possibly with a link to the document behind it), perhaps, for documents
without references but with an email address for the person who requested the
linktype, we should provide that email address. (Perhaps that will serve as an
incentive to provide a specification for the linktype. :-))
