A solution could be using rss, but I noticed that the new forum has rss
only on subgroups, and there is not general rss (like new posts). Or
maybe I couldn't find it. Anyone has seen that?

I agree it's sad to see the mailing list dropped in favour of a forum. As a
busy sysadmin, I find it much more convenient and efficient to follow software
development/discussion via my mailbox, than via a web forum interface.
Mail is simple and fast and the information generally uncluttered; for most web
interfaces, the GUI gets in the way. Has the decision to change been driven by
your manangement team or at the request of your clients?
