I expressed my views about forums when you first announced your plans, and I 
stand 
by my position that mail lists are significantly easier to manage and follow 
than 
forums.

A mail digest would probably be an ok compromise, but as it stands I believe 
you're making a retrograde step. How about using something like google groups, 
which offers a web interface and email access.
