I agree it's sad to see the mailing list dropped in favour of a
forum. As a
busy sysadmin, I find it much more convenient and efficient to
follow software
development/discussion via my mailbox, than via a web forum interface.
Would some form of email digest be a reasonable compromise?
If you want to vote for keeping the mailing lists, now is the time to
do it :) This is why we're giving you the heads-up.
Otherwise we'll assume that the silent majority are happy with the
changes we're proposing.
