Ok, it appears that something might be wrong in hardware if that is
happening. You said that the cd-rom drive got stuck? What happened?
If I know more about that I might be able to help you more.

It is impossible to change the information on the Oralux cd unless you
burned it on a cd-rw. If not, you can try the following.

Unplug the power from the machine, wait a few seconds and re-plug it.

If this does not work, and your braille display is not working
properly, see if a sighted person can look at a monitor and see what
the thing is saying. When we have that information, it might be easy
to help you.

In the mean time, did you use OSS or ALSA sound libraries to get your
speech? If you have been having trouble with your speech, you might
need to use the knoppix alsa cheat code to get the system to change
libraries for you.

This is the one I hope did not happen. It might be possible to have
had a power surge hit your machine, damaging some internal components
such as the cd-rom drive and sound card. If these have been damaged,
there might be a message that the sighted person can give you that
will indicate this. If so, you will need to replace them.

I will be waiting for the information on what happened to cause the
cd-rom drive to stick. How were you using the machine? What might
have happened to indicate to you that something was wrong, etc.

Hope this helps.
