I tried an e2fsck, though it didn't seem to change much. The result I got from that was the following:
/dev/hdc1: recovering journal
/dev/hdc1: Clearing orphaned inode 1818735 (uid=1011, gid=1011, mode=0100600, si
ze=3678)
/dev/hdc1: Clearing orphaned inode 1818729 (uid=0, gid=0, mode=0100600, size=0)
/dev/hdc1: Clearing orphaned inode 1818728 (uid=100, gid=103, mode=0100600, size
=0)
/dev/hdc1: Clearing orphaned inode 1818681 (uid=100, gid=103, mode=0100600, size
=0)
/dev/hdc1: Clearing orphaned inode 1818679 (uid=100, gid=103, mode=0100600, size
=0)
/dev/hdc1: clean, 129820/3014656 files, 5368398/6024367 blocks
So is there something I should do with this data? It seems to be saying there is something amiss. Or does it usually produce results like these?
I also did try unplugging the beast for 20 seconds and then plugging it back in. Unfortunately, that didn't produce results either. So am I stranded until I can afford a sound card and/or I can locate the Oralux CD that has disappeared on me?
