Making business using OSS is still hard for us, maybe the skills that we have and the believe that using OSS should be cheap... (haiya)...
Im against using costs saving as a benefit because it make our OSS industry suffers. Its may good to present to politicians but its has negative impacts. We can see this from our friends doing freelance and companies that moving aways from supporting OSS as business models. They suffers because the amount paid could not cover the increase costs during services. I always said. The amount that we save from licensing should be invest back to OSS industry by paying services that will benefits to all. RM1000 that we save, we can used that to hire OSS consultants to give services like network consultancy, training and configuration. This will increase our human capitals skills set and knowledge. They want quality services but tapi mahu bayar ciput. (want to pay small amounts) Mungkin ayat ini kasar. Tapi peribahasa saya "Dibayar taik dapat taik".
