OK, I recall the example code segfault was now in a different thread, one on text. I've just run valgrind and it generates a number of what it thinks are errors, but as yet don't know what to make of it. Just running osgviewer also generates what it thinks are errors. OpenThreads and osgParticle have not changed in any substantial way for quite some while, so these errors have likely been there for a long time. The fact you have just started observing it is probably just a co-incidence. The is chance that manifestation of the problem could disappear just as quickly. This doesn't mean the bug has gone, just gone underground. Whether valgrind is providing accurate reports I can't comment on. It perhaps is giving us clues. Do you get a crash in osgparticleeffects? If so how quickly? > >> I haven't had a chance to investigate the valgrind report though, >> have you had a chance? > > I'm sorry. I'm neither the original author of osgParticle or OpenThreads, just the maintainer. I don't know everything about all NodeKits and code in the OSG, I'm might know more than most, but like you it takes me hours to go hunting down bugs as well. In fixing bugs I need as much help as I can.
