Hi Jan,

The issue is not whether it is available or not (it is) but whether it is worth
the trouble - OpenVRML is big and Boost even larger. These are two huge
dependencies for a tiny plugin able to load only some mesh data.

I have submitted the current version of the plugin which uses the old OpenVRML
(and doesn't need Boost) to Robert already, but I feel that this is not an
approach sustainable in the long term.

Perhaps one approach might be to host the OpenVRML plugin on the new
server (when it comes online), make it its build similiar to the core
OSG and make as easy as possible to pick up the plugin and use it.

I would like to use this approach with a number of external but
closely related projects. Keeping such projects alive, in sync with
OSG release and consistent with the OSG style to build and
distribution will be crucial. I'll write more about this in a
separate thread.

Robert.
