Wait a minute, Michael h,
the way I perceive it is that there are many local, regional (international) and an annual worldwide OSonOS alive and hopping and growing. In splendid selforganisation. In the german language realm (Austria, Germany, Switzerland and some sprinklings from Italy, Netherlands..)we just had the 6th annual regional OSonOS in a row (actually, its called a Learning Exchange...for some time it bore the title "I, open space facilitator"...this last one was just "I, open space..." to embrace not only facilitators but sponsors, friends, newbees, etc.). This coming June there will be the 2nd BOSonOS (Berlin Open Space on Open Space), which is definitely a local event (no doubt all kinds of people from other places in Germany and abroad can not be avoided!!) that spawned an amazing number of projects (in the first BOSonOS the idea of the berlin open space landscape was created which now has evolved into the open space worldscape (http://www.openspaceworldscape.org/)

I know that there are local/regional OSonOS in the USA (as I recall in Texas and the last one By The Sea, wherever that is), in the UK (they just had their 3rd one, I think, last year I went to the one in London where new activity evolved around a UK website http://www.openspaceuk.com/

and, there are a number of others I think in Sweden (inviting all of Scandinavia and beyond)
and probably local and regional ones in other parts of the world.
In fact, everyone of the 20+ Stammtische is a budding OSonOS, if you like.

So, what we have is a broad movement.
OSonOSes - be they in the form of a stammtisch, a more "formal" local, regional or worldwide event - in fact arise wherever there is a bunch of folks with passion and an urge to make things happen. The second Berlin OSonOS for June of this year was conceived by a group at the regional OSonOS that just took place last week in Berlin.
The next worldwide event was born at the last worldwide OSonOS in Moscow
(where we also announced the plan to have the one in 2008 in Berlin).
I am pretty sure that the next worldwide OSonOS will be born at the upcoming event in Kiev. And it would not surprise me if there is a bunch of Berliners (please recall JFK saying at a speech in Berlin long before the wall came down "Ich bin ein Berliner!")in Kiev inviting us to Berlin in 2008....maybe in a concert of a bunch of irresistable invitations!!

Greetings from this windy city expecting hurricane winds this afternoon mmp boscop eg

just wondering now... what if the 'international osonos' actually took place in several countries at once? those who wished to travel could do so, sewing us together. those who could not travel far, could meet someplace in their own continent or country. maybe there'd even be an online osonos at the same time for those not travelling anywhere. everyone could access all the notes online, including beforehand as some of us were discussing earlier. that way everyone could decide where to go to meet up with the ones they wanted. why not? of course there is this business of the folks who meet up from all different countries, the stories of having 12 or 15 countries represented. but of course how many of our clients have said... 'oh my' to open space when they find out that not everyone will hear the same stuff at the same time? why not have an open season on osonos's? anyone with real passion could convene a local one and post the notes into the central proceedings repository, probably in many languages. and what if somebody decided to post some skype sessions that could include participants from several osonos's at once, some no doubt up in the middle of the night someplace?

i tried to instigate such a thing way back in marysville, australia, without success. so we went to sweden. but maybe the time is still coming when this community will learn to have many osonos gatherings going at once rather than everyone having to travel to just one each year. speaking of irresitable offers, how long can this community resist doing more than one conference at once, given what we are out there preaching and practicing about simultaneous working sessions? :-)

    Dear Tree and all

As to my understanding – Michael and his collegues are working on a
proposal we cannot resist. Personally I think it is a good idea to
have the International OSonOS 2008 in North America so I hope there
will be another proposal we cannot resist in Kiev! And I guess the
decision will be made there by whoever shows up. I do look forward
to coming to an International OSOnOS in Berlin whenever the
community thinks it´s the right time. It sure seems like a strong
    community there!

Great to feel the energy building up…

    Warmest regards

As someone based in N. America. I am offering my input that
International OSonOs 2006 was in Europe. This year will be in the
Ukraine which I believe is Europe? I sure hope 2008 is NOT in
Europe, Michael, and I am sorry to read that that might be the plan.

I have also heard of a plan to have OSonOS in Northern California
and Jerusalem. Surely it has not been decided that the
international OSonOS 2008 will be in Berlin?!
