I certainly agree that the Dems have lost a lot of important issues. I just never equated 'progressives' with 'democrats'. To me the 'progressives' are a subset of the democrats that excludes the 'Blue Dogs'. I certainly agree that the Dems have no discipline and no unifying ideology but those facts just strengthens my conviction that dems ≠ progressives. I haven't seen any movement on the part of the true progressives. The list of congress critters who voted against FISA is the same as the list who voted against funding the war is the same as those who voted against the Military Commissions Act. It is true that before 2006 some blue dogs would occasionally vote with the progressives when it didn't matter. Since 2006 they have revealed their true colors. -- Conscience is thoroughly well-bred and soon leaves off talking to those who do not wish to hear it. -Samuel Butler, writer (1835-1902) _______________________________________________ OSX-Nutters mailing list | [email protected] http://lists.tit-wank.com/mailman/listinfo/osx-nutters List hosted at http://cat5.org/
