No, Statusview has a submenu for showing open/closed ticket (Open Tickets / 
Closed Tickets under Ticket Status View sentence) by default.

AFAIK StatusView doesn't show closed tickets. Not on our installation anyway 
(and I wouldn't want it to do that either).
