Yes very possible. I've got my old Gmail, as well as two other domain emails all turning up in my Google Apps email account. Given that if anything Google Apps lags behind Google GMail (its much better in the last few years tho) then I'm sure Gmail can do it. Theres a process (been a while since I did it) where you have to prove the email account is yours but it will also allow you to send from that inbox as well. ie Send as. Your Gmail account should be able to connect to other mail systems (does pop and imap) to get your mail. The useful part is being able to reply to them as well. Only mail I've not been able to get working is Hotmail. Microsoft doesn't play well with others on that front.
