From what I know they can't make the actual hormone "protoglandin"
synthetically.
I guess too we need to look at the honesty of laboritories etc they
are not going to disclose information to make people not want to use their
drug are they.
After all it is all about money in the end.
So i am hesitant to believe a manufacturer or pharmacy because when I
refused on the grounds that I may have had a reaction to prostin i was
told by the Dr that it was a natural product and not synthetic so i
could not be allergic to prostin. I suggested that it may be a
synthetic base/lubricant that may have caused me to swell and feel sore
and she had to agree that the base may be synthetic but was insistant that
I could in no way be allergic to the natural hormone prostoglandin.
So i guess it depends on how you ask the question - is it
natural? Yes if that is what you want.
Is it synthetic - Yes - if that is what you want.
My husband has suggested asking the abotiours as they will know if
they sell or provide pig semen to anywhere. And he feels that
ithis is where they would get it.

[ozmidwifery] prostins
The
story regarding PGs being made from pig semen does the rounds every few
years, last time it was discussed on Ozmidwifery a hospital pharmacy was
contacted who checked the composition of the PGs (including contacting the
manufacturers) who said it was definitely all synthetic and did not
include any pig semen.
