Sorry, I don't undestand what you mean by vertical app ?
Isn't it same as 'hack'? Something where you have
your own trap handler (with HackMaster or calling
SysSetTrapAddress directly). You can think of a hack
as a 'resident application', which is activated after
system reset and deactivated with the next reset.
Since reset doesn't happen pretty often, Power ON/OFF
is probably the best place where you can remind the
user about yourself (and should do it politely of course).
In other cases, this would be really odd.
