If it's compiled under cygwin, shouldn't it be compilable under Linux?

The Palm OS Protein C/C++ Compiler (pacc.exe) and related tools are built using Visual C++. They are portable to other OSes, but we have not released any builds that run outside of Windows. We are considering other platforms later this year, but wanted to get this toolset out and QAed on the main development platform first.

cygwin is only used for prc-tools and the tools like GNU make that Eclipse's CDT relies upon.

As stated at the Developer Conference in February, we do consider Mac OS X and Linux to be important host platforms for developers, and support for them is part of our long-range plans, although I can't say when that will happen.
