Susan, do you know what kind of car radio you have? is it a late model car? it may 
already be equipped with an xm radio! I'll bet your son would have figured that out by 
now though. XM ready  radios are available on General Motors cars, and Sirius 
equipment on Chrysler cars and trucks.

Okay, that makes it a bit clearer.  My sighted son is pretty technical so if
the time comes I'm sure he can plow through the PDF files and sort out what
we actually need to do.  There wasa limited time offer of some kind on their
catalogue page but I'm probably not going to make any purchase until closer
to Christmas, have run out of mad money for the moment, so will see what
happens.  In the meantime this is all pretty exciting.
