Good. Then any thoughts about how my status line could have become shortened in this way? Again, thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Harmon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Your scripts should be ok for goldwave 5.12 if your using version 5.51 of the goldwave scripts by Jim Grimsby. I am using them with goldwave 5.14 here and haven't upgraded yet to goldwave 5.17 due to waiting for new scripts to come out for it. I wouldn't have thought that would create a discrepancy. I guess I'm reluctant to download the current version of Goldwave, which I believe might be 5.17, and do the setting all over again. Your thoughts? Yes, I'm careful to maximize the Goldwave window. I notice now that insert-pagedown announces the elapsed time as the recorded file plays, but no other information, such as the file's total duration. I wonder if I've mistakenly made a setting that cuts short the status line. Thanks for your tutorials. They're a big help. I created these settings from yet a third tutorial I came across earlier this year. You're definitely not to blame, and undoubtedly nor are the other people who took the trouble to help others learn this program. BTW are you using Goldwave 5.xx or 4.26? There are different keyboard short cuts for 4.26 and this could be your problem. That is a JAWS status line command across all programs. I was trying to be concise. To be clear, the other numbers I mentioned refer to the number row above the letter keys. 2. Clearly, the scripts I have loaded are designed for the partial and full status line functions that I can't get them to work for. As I indicated, insert-1 (number row 1) gets the relevant key combinations to speak these functions. 3. Yes, you're right. I did have to turn on green play in the play tab. It goes against a recommendation made in a tutorial, or my understanding of it. I know the objective is to get green to play one part of a file and yellow to play another, such as the selected portion. Now I need to determine again which settings are ideal for green and yellow play in this tab. I hope I have clarified the problems I'm having with Goldwave. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Doc" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. I have followed their recommendations for settings and have been trying to replicate their actions. However, I'm running into the following problems and hope the people on this list can help. 1. F4, the green play button, won't work unless I first press another key, in this instance F6, fast forward. By contrast, shift-F4, for yellow play, works without a hitch. 2. Pressing insert-3 for the insert line gives me no useful information. JAWS says, "File. Action..." but no numbers. Similarly, alt-shift-d and the other partial status info shortcuts don't read anything. Note that I do have JAWS Goldwave scripts installed. I've confirmed it with JAWS key-0 and also by pressing JAWS key-1, where the JAWS-scripted keystroke functions are reported. For example, pressing alt-shift-d in this mode causes JAWS to verbalize something along the lines of, "says duration of the file." One more fact, in case it's relevant. I installed the Goldwave scripts earlier this year into my JAWS 6.2 folder, but hardly ever practiced with goldwave and don't recall how they worked. Now that I'm seriously applying myself, I've been switching back and forth between 6.2 and 8.0. I'm getting the same limited amount of goldwave script information in both versions, though I realized today that I never copied the Goldwave scripts into my JAWS 8 folders. JAWS 8 tells me that the Goldwave scripts are, indeed, installed. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
