Hi. Yes, Iwas about to write to the list about my own issues with
GoldWave's noise reduction when I came across this conversation.
Chris is very right that it's pretty good, but I find that anything
apart from the "Very Light Hiss/Rumble Removal" feature takes outtoo
much and muffles the sound, and the option mentioned above does a
pretty neat job but leaves a weird whistling behind because it doesn't
quite delete enough (some people are just very hard to please!!!).
This means that at some points the remaining hiss/whistle is more
noticeable than at others; particularly when there's silence (i.e. no
speech, music, etc). This inconsistent pattern can become annoying to
me when I hear it through my laptop speakers although, bizarrely, I
don't notice these issues so much through my headphones (thought
having the file playing closer to my ears would make the problem stand
out more, not less).

Anyway, is Depopper better at dealing with this issue, and will I need
instructions if I download it or is it pretty self-explanatory?

Many thanks, Danny
