just hit apple-L, type the URL (or paste it if you previously have copied
it from somewhere) and hit enter, the active window will go to this URL.
The preferences can be used to specify the standard "dot whatever", for
example I hit apple-L, type apple and iCab takes me to www.apple.com.
Works really good.
