...I switched to X when 10.1 came out; haven't switched back...I LOVE 
OS X. I use Illustrator 10; I hated Quark in the first place and would 
choose Illustrator over it any day mainly due to tighter integration 
with my Photoshop/ImageReady workflow, and the program is similarly 
laid out to PS/IR. I have only had X crash on me badly ONCE, and it was 
actually due to a bad logic board in my B&W G4; so it wasn't really an 
issue with X. I never shut my X machine down; it has been up for over 2 
weeks now without any problems. As far as Postscript RIP goes, if you 
used Illustrator and a suppourted PostScript Level  2 printer, you 
shouldnt have these issues....at least I never do.
