Now I _know_ you're blowing smoke.  My _7300_ runs 9.1 just fine with 
_only_ 64 meg of RAM in it.  9 is more than acceptable on that system.

Or at least keep it until you can get an upgrade.  No software is truly 
useless at all times to all people.  And 10.1 is just fine when the 
system has enough power to support it.  He might inherit and iMac or G3 
PowerBook - you never know...

I know this is going to come across as flamebait here but do some 
research next time before answering somebody's questions.  You almost 
put a person off a possible good solution for his Mac.
