I apologize for seeming so snide.  I'm not really that way.

I once had something happen similar to your problem.  It turned out that one 
of my ram sticks wasn't entirely seated.  In your case, have you checked to 
make sure your Sonnet is making complete contact?

Also, I may be wrong but I believe that OSX would actually slow down your 
7500.
