Google up for basic tutes. You will be pleased when you have. A basic Mac operation is to find out many simple parameters of anything at all on your computer. For files, folders, and disks, select the item and press command + i (assuming you are in the Finder ... you are probably in the Finder if you click the mouse on the desktop) or go to File menu and choose Get Info. In the case of your disk, do this by selecting the icon and so on. The figures in brackets are an indication of the 'actual' size of files, the ones not in brackets indicate the files and the space reserved for them. The Capacity is what the disk will hold (zips often say things like 95.6 MB because some space is taken up by formatting and stuff...) > > ------------------------------ > > Date: Thu, 01 Jul 2004 02:25:38 -0400 > From: "Green, Steven B." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: [PCI] Move to OS 9 > Message-id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > >> Steve I take it that your concern is that you have no way to back up >> your games, email, art, mp3s and programs for which you may no longer >> have install disks. But in general, no software for this is going to be smarter than us. Get those basic tutes! If you like reading book form, in many second hand shops, esp technical, you will find Mac primers for almost nothing... David Elmo -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
