Well, as I remember, when I moved to HFS+ I didn't want to back up, reformat
and reinstall either, although this is the route I would officially
recommend to anyone who asked. I used a utility from Alsoft called
PlusMaker. It worked very nicely. Still available from Alsoft for $29.
