It has a ZIP drive that came with it. How would I find out the size of it?
Also I have an external 1GB drive that I didn't think about that I could use.

The Zip is most probably a 100 MB.
An external drive will be on a separate bus running at half speed. It should be recognized without fiddling with IDs. Just plug and play.
