The ID doesn't matter for termination (it may matter for other reasons but they have nothing to do with termination). (Simplified) The device at either end of the the cable must be terminated. Normally this means the Mac (which is already terminated), and whatever device (hard drive, cd, etc) is at the far end of the cable (or on the last port of the cable put in a terminator and don't terminate the devices).

As to what jumpers to use/not use. That gets whacked because different companies do different things. Basically you need to make sure that termination isn't active, and that only the terminating devices are supplying termination power (too much term power is bad). Thing is, some devices won't do term power if term enable is off, but others have them as independant settings (yes, really). Best bet is to find pdf manuals for all the devices and read. It's a pain, but the only sure bet.
