All of the Apple SCSI CD-ROMs that I own, from a 300i 2X to the CR 8012 12X
have termination jumpers on them. In fairness, Glen may have mistaken Apple
IDE CD-ROMs (which have Master and Slave jumpers as opposed to Termination
jumpers) with Apple SCSI CD-ROMs.

For the TE and TP jumpers. The best thing to do is to check the PDF for
your HD (or your CD-ROM, burner, etc.). Search the manufacturer's website.
The manual will have that information.

The above by Ron is correct. You only need termination at the _ends_ of the
chain and the motherboard or PCI card is already terminated. Only the last
drive on the chain needs to be terminated, regardless of the number.

However, if the drive is not a modern one (last 5 years or so) the internal
termination of the hard drive, CD _may_ not be good enough or be
nonfunctional, which requires external termination (a passthrough
terminator, for example).

The standard starting point for finding solutions for SCSI problems is to
attach each device singly, see if it works and check its ID number by, for
instance, Drive Setup.

Sincerely yours, Grizzlygiant
