Could be the wrong adapter or the monitor is hosed. The one I bought came with a VGA adapter with no dip switches for Mac's like the 7600. 4 MB VRAM should give you a 1024 x 768 resolution with millions of colors at 65-80 MHz according to the owners manual. The owners manual also says "[if] you able to access only the 640 x480 resolution setting, you will need to turn off the DDC control to access the rest of the settings. This applies to the" 9500 series" which I suspect includes the 7600. Perhaps you can find the download for owners manual from the Apple site. I'm not in front of the Studio Display at this time so really can't describe how to access the DDC control and the manual is very limited in this description.
