I tried with downloading the monitor&sound panel update for that
screen from apple, it only works with os 8.5, I tried it on 8.6 no
difference, no special setting for that screen - still only one
choice in the prefs, (can the vram be bad or to small !?) , it
crashes in 9.x
the resolution works ok tried on a 0sX ebook,
there is no way to measure if the vram size or condition ? no ?
please send me those extra extensions,
the OSD guide was really good , included in the in the apple download,
it really helped - thanks glen !

(I wrote a reply to this mail before but it came back, it happens a
lot here right now)
<<are there any extensions that will let you change the screenresolution, ? I
am using it now with that old mac adapter, only gives one choice in the
display comtrol panel, if so please link to them or send them ? my mailbox is
quite spacious,

I just used the Monitor and Sound control panel that come standard with OS 8
and OS 9 Easy Installs when it was attached my 7500 to change resolutions.
I never had to use the install disc to install anything, however the disc
does have a lot of info and extensions on it. Upon on reading the
manual (which I
never did before) the On Screen Display (OSD) settings may help. The OSD
button is located on the monitor case just below the screen furthest
to the left.
Of course if you can't get a viewable image on the monitor then this is not
useful.
Currently my monitor is attached to a G4 but I still use the OS 9 Monitor and
Sound CP to change resolutions when needed.
I'm not at that workstation now but will check tomorrow and see if there is
anything on the install disc that may help and will send it. --glen
