<< Thanks for the answers,

I have an old mac adapter that gives that low resolution 640 - 480 at 57 mhz
and proves that the screen works, I also have a 8 switch adaptor and I tried
this night all the settings on that adapter that are suggested on the adaptor
cover, none of them lights up the screen, I do not know if that particular
adapter is ok, cause I did not try it with any other screen, and no the display
does not look like the first bondi iMacs, a bit later it has OS X like aqua
pattern on the front, and is grey and black or slightly deep blue, it says
apple
studio display on the back and then some small prints that is quite hard to
read -:((.It stands on a tree leg plastic. >>

Your description is consistent with my monitor; three leg plastic stand and
it says Apple Studio Display on the back. They came in different colors. Some
are gray mine is the same blue color as the B &W G3. When my non-MAC clients
saw the monitor they thought is was an iMac.

If so, under the screen there are a series of buttons. The furthest on the
left is the On Screen Display (OSD). Press this button and you should see a
window appear with a menu bar. Navigate all the way to the right to the "ETC"
menu. That is where you find the DDC setting. This should be turned off. If it
is
turned on, then I have no idea how to solve your problem.

I do have the install CD that came with the monitor so if you need any
manuals or extensions let me know I can send them. The monitor I have is great
so if
you can get this working you really found a gem.

Good luck, --glen.
