Yes, everything will move over. But I'd go for the 9600 as the 9500 case is not user-friendly for upgraders whereas you already know the benefits of the 8600/9600 case. Make sure you do a cuda reset followed by a PRAM reset on first boot.

Should be fine as the 8500/8600 and 9500/9600 are just about functionally identical aside from the second PCI bus on the 9500/9600 and 4 extra memory slots. I would recommend keeping the same PCI card arrangement and place them only in the top 3 PCI slots until you are sure everything is working, then you can rearrange or expand into the lower 3 PCI slots.

Hello,

I have a question. I use PCs at work, and I dabble in Macs as a hobby. I have an 8600 mini tower with a paltry amount of PCI slots (3 -all occupied). I've turned this machine into a video production server, but need more PCI slots. I am looking at a 9500 or 9600 machine which have more PCI slots (a G5 right now is cost prohibitive). If I purchase one of these 95 or 9600s, can I move all my current RAM (502MB), HDs, CD/DVD burners, and PCI cards, and the G4/750 Sonnet Crescendo accelerator in the 8600 to the 95 or 9600?

Thanks

Canyac
