Actually, if you check out the site for the CWShredder, you will he talks about SpuBots failure in this area. The portion of SpyBot that is supposed to protect against that, fails to do so because the actions to reset the start page are during the boot process, and takes place before SpyBot can stop it. I had the option set, and kept repeatedly having to reset it anyway. In fact, the only thing it really DOES prevent, is the user from changing the page, and maybe a few low level threats. These trojans in their latest variant, slide right past SPyBot's protection in my experience (at least in the free version).
