The cameras I have used have a designated button to initate the upload
procedure. This will be identified in your manual.
The rest depends on your software and operating system which you hsve not
identified. XP, for instance, will upload from some cameras without any
additional software, while Win9x and some cameras require the installation
of software which is usually included with the camera.
The Camera manufacturer's web site will probably provide both software and
manuals.
    I'll check the manual again, but, as far as I know, I just have to plug 
the camera into the usb and the parallel ports to dl the pics, the puter does 
the rest.  And why I have to use both cables is beyond me, but I've tried it 
numerous times with just one or the other and it won't work.
    The message I keep getting now is that my camera has to be plugged into 
the puter.  It is....long before I even try to dl the pictures!!  Why can't the 
puter pick up on this?
