I've never seen that! If you're talking about that ridiculous
annoying monotonous MSCONFIG window that pops up after every
boot after you've changed something in MSCONFIG, well that's
typical "spastic" XP behavior. The only way to stop it is stop
changing something in MSCONFIG, or hit "cancel" when it pops up
after boot if you don't need to change anything in it again.
Sometimes SpyBot's "TeaTimer" will let you know that this has
been added to the Startup folder and you can deny it to keep it
from showing up, but, sometimes TT will NOT notice it. If
you're talking about something else, then I don't know.

Unchecking items under the Startup tab in MSCONFIG should be
simple, everything should be plainly named along with the full
path.

"What kind of "message" are you speaking of?"

The one that says you have modified the startup and are in
selective
mode. I can't get rid of the message even tho I click Don't
tell me this
anymore and then say ok. It still comes back when the computer
is restarted.
On batch files I do not know how to do that.
I also find it difficult to tell what you are turning off in
the
msconfig mode.
