Peter, once again I can't receive your posts! I give up on trying to find out why. (I only saw this because of Babs' reply).
If I understand you correctly--the HD boots up fine on another PC, and it's not in this one even after a fresh install, that would only leave the controller or BIOS as the problem, assuming the HD cable of course is fine. Try another cable, then try the HD on a different controller if possible. I don't know if this is an IDE or SATA HD and I can't find any info on the mobo other than an 845 chipset. See if the BIOS can boot from the HD when it's on a controller other than the PRI IDE, or if SATA, another SATA connector. If so that would indicate that port on the controller is bad. If not, then the whole controller may be bad. Then you can try reflashing the BIOS (to the current version again if there is no update or if you don't want to update it). (If you need to contact me you should still have another email address of mine on another domain). -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Kaulback" >I have a P4 on an Intel HV845 board and currently the average >wait time >until the Windows loading screen comes up is 3 minutes, >sometimes not at >all. I'm assuming it's crap that start-up that I don't see (programs that run in the background, spyware, etc)... If I reinstall windows the boot-up time becomes astonishing fast which I figure is the normal boot time.... Babs ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
