Hi Gang, I can't say what happens to the missing emails. Clint..yours seem to come through twice, then The Infamous "third attempt at posting" also comes through :-). The word Virus was at one time a "taboo" word. This was not becaue I thought an actul virus would contain the world virus...that IS pretty silly ;-0. The reason it used to be in the taboo list was that years back everybody and thier brother thought is was thier duty to inform the list of every virus hoax that came out, and there were plently of them for a while. For those of you who remember those days, a well meaning post that turned out to be a hoax could and very often did start a flame-fest on the list.
In any case the word virus has been re-instated to an "acceptable" word for about the past three years or so. So happy I could clear up at least ONE of life's most perplexing puzzles for you guys :-) Marlene -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Clint - OrpheusComputing.com & ComputersCustomBuilt.com Sent: Saturday, May 05, 2007 08:59 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: PCWorks: Posts not showing (Avg Free or Avast Free) It's something else and it also happens to me (messages never showing up). They also don't show in the archives. Then other times, they'll SHOW in the archives but never to the list. Still other times they will go to the list, but never show in the archives! -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://www.OrpheusComputing.com http://www.ComputersCustomBuilt.com http://Computer-Hardware-Sales-Consumer-Electronics-Sales.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ben Moore" I guess I'm mistaken, Hugh. Every once in a while I write an email to this list that never appears. I go back and look at what I sent and to make sure I deleted the PC works tag and all seems ok. But, the missing mail always seems to contain the word... ok I'll say it... virus. I always thought that was pretty silly blocking the word virus as if any self respecting virus would label itself. Then I saw someone else using the vi*us approach and seemed to recall somewhere a discussion that there were words that would cause the list to block an email. Boy do I feel liberated now. Virus, virus, virus, virus ... ;-) Ben Moore through? How about virus without quotes? Bizarre. Ben Moore wrote: > Hi Harold, > > The Avg free is fine.
