Clicking in the table would probably only work on a tagged PDF. You might still be able to copy the table using the Table Select Tool - click on the down arrow next to the "Select Text" tool and you should get a few more options, including "Select Table." If all else fails, you can try BCL Jade to extract tables to a spreadsheet. It works on PDFs from just about any source, and doesn't require the PDFs to be tagged. Thanks. I tried the demo. of Jade with Acrobat 5 and had no trouble extracting tables from documents like those that Acrobat 6 cannot handle. I have upgraded to Acrobat 6 and it would seem that BCL does not yet have Jade for Acrobat 6.
Are you willing to claim on behalf of BCL that Jade will extract tables under conditions that Acrobat cannot? If you don't want to make the claim on the list, feel free to contact me personally at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Note to folk from Adobe: The ability to extract tablular material from PDFs is very important to certain segments of your market. If there are limitations on the extraction function in Acrobat 6, the documentation that I have found does not make this clear. Can you point me to a complete description of this function?
