In case anyone else was interested to know how the Select Table tool in Acrobat 6 works, here's what I found: It doesn't require the PDF to be tagged. You can copy tables from an untagged PDF, but you have to be careful about the selection area - if you include a table title, or any text that crosses a column boundary (such as a spanning header), you might get two or more columns merged together. You can also use the Select Table tool onn tagged PDFs, but you will probably only be able to retrieve the information as it's stored in the tags. So if it was created from Word with tags, it should be okay, but if you're relying on the Accessibility plug-in to tag PDFs, you can get some unexpected results. In the sample I was testing, it seemed to detect the tables correctly, but it still merged columns in some of the tables. Jade is better at handling tables with spanning cells, and might be the better solution if you'd rather not worry about the source of the PDF file. Its table extraction will be the same regardless of any tagging within the PDF. Rachel Burnsed [EMAIL PROTECTED] To change your subscription: http://www.pdfzone.com/discussions/lists-pdf.html
