As I said, not ALL of the Carbon Font Manager & ATS are available pre-OSX...but many parts are. The specifics are in the header files - just look at the API calls and it will tell you what the earliest OS that supports it is.
I already looked at the header files:
- Carbon Font Manager supported (of course) - none of Apple Type Services supported - ATSUI supported, but not very useful.
So what if the APIs you want aren't available - then you need to look elsewhere for that support....Whether it's your own code or open source libraries such as a FreeType.
Is FreeType available for Mac OS 8 & 9 ?
