the manufacturers are making it happen. they are definitely cutting back on film camera production and people are buying the digitals. if film stabilizes at 10% of it's peak market share, you're going to have far less selection and higher costs.

After $150 repair by Nikon it still does not work. The average guy is not likely to spend $400 on a point and shoot digital camera, repair it and then go spend another $400 on another.
