Christian,

While I won't argue the type of battery, all digitals eat batteries
rapidly.  Even if they take AA's, they still need to be NiMh
rechargables to last at all.  That being the case, I'm not so sure
that it really matters that much.  The one question is whether they
have easy access to charging or not.

If they can find an Optio 230, it uses AA's and CF cards.  One
daughter has an A10 and the other an Optio 230.  Both of them prefer
the Optio.
